Mike Biddle, managing director at retail property consultancy AGL, has retired from the business 22 years after founding the company. He will continue his involvement with the firm on a consultancy basis.

Biddle has spent more than 40 years in the retail property sector, working with occupational and investment clients including Sainsbury’s, Christie’s, Capital & Regional, Revcap and Ares Management.

He pioneered AGL’s successful expansion into the retail investment market in Germany and has maintained close links with a number of developers and investors in Germany, most recently evidenced by AGL’s sell-side advisory role on the €200m+ Jasmine retail warehouse portfolio.

“AGL has been left in the safe hands of directors with a combined experience in excess of 135 years. They will continue to provide an excellent service to both long-established and more recent clients” said Biddle.

The remaining directors of AGL said; “We would like to put on record our appreciation of Mike’s contribution to the firm over the years. His leadership and deal-making have laid the foundations for our continued success. We look forward to working with him in the future.

“AGL goes from strength to strength. We will continue to provide market-leading advice to our occupational and investment clients on the full spectrum of property matters in the retail and leisure sectors. “
