AGL & Immobilien Zeitung – Wenn der Supermarkt zum Kunden kommt

AGL has teamed up with Immobilien Zeitung, Germany’s leading commercial real estate publication, to shine a light on the evolving habits of supermarket customers in the UK and the retailers’ reactions to those changes.

The innovation shown by UK grocery retailers is not yet evident in Germany.  Online shopping, click and collect and the growth of convenience stores are yet to make significant inroads into the bricks and mortar grocery shopping landscape in Germany.  The dominance of discount retailers and the German consumer’s naturally cautious approach to spending money are both cited as important factors.
 
We believe there is plenty of room in the German grocery retail market for some of the innovative approaches pioneered by British retailers.
